 Central Cairns Swimming Club (CCS) will have it’s sign on day on Saturday 4th of September at Trinity Bay High School.

CCS has a strong family orientated philosophy.  The children develop strong bonds with their fellow swimmers and many parents have forged enduring friendships through theclub.

Swimming in a club is not all about competition.  If you do not feel like competing at regional level, you can join as a recreational swimmer.  This will give you access to activites that are for club members only.

Of course, becoming a member involves filling in the following forma: membership application form and general permission form.  Please note that all parents and carers who will be attending carnivals or helping out in anyway (however small) with the club must be a registered member of the Club for insurance purposes. The membership for CCS is a family membership (see fees in the member’s handbook).  As a parent of a CCS swimmer, the only extra cost for you to join the Club is the time to fill in the form!

As part of the Child Welfare Policy, the Club requires that all adult members (parents, grand-parents, carers and adult non-swimmer) obtain a “Blue Card” from the Qld Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian.  Forms can be downloaded from the Commission’s website at http://www.ccypcg.qld.gov.au/employment/bluecard/applications.html

It helps us keep the membership fees as low as possible and keeps the club financially viable. Over the past years this focus of Fundraising has been to try and provide sufficient funding for the club to assist swimmers and famalies however fundraising is also required for purchase and funding of club equipment for the membership

We ask parents to support any fund raising activities as more hands make light work. At times there may be special fund raising activities for which the monies may go to a specific event. If you have any ideas on fundraising activities, or if you have experience in filling in grant applications, please speak to a member of the committee. If you have any questions or any suggestions to fundraise please contact Paul Grant or email to info@centralcairnsswimming.com

Paul  is always looking for new assistants, ideas and enjoys having fun organising fundraising activities. Please let him know if you have any ideas or thoughts on how this could be progressed.

The club has also implemented EFT transfers for carnival nominations, uniforms and other payments.
How to use the Online Nominations Process
1. Download Carnival entry flyer from CCS web site or collect it from the pool.
2. Speak to the coaches about which events you should enter.
3. Click on the online Carnival nominations link on the left side of the new web page and complete the relevant information. This year the club has further enhanced the process so that the club member nominating for the carnial get sent a return email confirming their nomination. 
4. To complete payments for nominations please click on the relevant bank logo and use the EFT transfer functions to transfer the required payments to the club bank Account. (Please note this is not BPAY)
5. Enter the EFT payment receipt number into the online form in the EFT Receipt numbers space at the bottom of the nomination form submit the nominations form online by clicking the “submit nomination button”. This form will then be sent to the Coaches, Treasurer and Nominations Officer to verify and complete.
6. Please ensure you enter your contact details and phone number in case the Nominations Officer needs to contact you re your nomination
7. If EFT is not your preferred payment method please tick the “payment by check” box so the nominations form with still be processed however payment must be made by the start of the carnival.
NOMINATION FORMS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY PAYMENT OR EFT TRANSFER.
NOMINATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED IF PAYMENT DOES NOT ACCOMPANY NOMINATIONS

EFT Banking details:

To reduce some of our Bank Fees, we have introduced the option of paying by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) - Direct Deposit for swim meet entries, memberships and purchase of uniforms. You can still pay by cash or cheque if you prefer by either placing the deposits into the Blue Nominations Box at the pool or posting the deposit to the Club’s postal address. Note that this is NOT “BPay”.

Please use this facility wherever possible for payments to the club, rather than paying by cheque. EFT payment or direct deposit can be made using your bank’s internet banking or phone banking facility if it has them.

In the comments/details field, please use the code for the payment (see below) followed by the swimmer’s registration IDThe swimmer registration is the first three letters from the swimmer’s surname, first two letters from the swimmers first name and date of birth, for example John Smith (dob 17/02/90) = smijo170290.

For example, if you are paying for entries to the Dimbulah Swimming Club Carnival for John Smith, the banking entry should be “DSC SMIJO170290″.

Please print a copy of your acknowledgement and include it with the meet entry or Membership Form, etc.
